Euphorbia helioscopia L.

Glabrous or sparsely pilose annual. Stem erect, 10–30(–60) cm tall, simple or sparingly branched from base, often leafless and reddish below. Leaves obovate to broadly spathulate, serrulate in upper half. Rays (3–)5. Ray leaves and raylet leaves broadly obovate-elliptical or the latter rounded-rhombic. Glands not horned. Capsule 2.5–3.5 mm, smooth and glabrous. Seeds 1.5–2.0 mm, ovoid, brown, alveolate-reticulate; caruncle somewhat flattened, crescent-shaped.
