Scandix pecten-veneris L.

Erect or spreading annual, generally 15–35 cm tall. Leaves 2- or 3-pinnate into linear-lanceolate ultimate segments 2–5 × 0.5–1.5 mm. Umbels with 1–3 subequal rays 8–30 mm, ± incrassate in fruit. Bracts absent or rarely few; bractlets usually 5, conspicuous and exceeding pedicels, often reflexed, with ciliate margins. Flowers 3–8 in each umbellule, on very short pedicels. Petals unequal, white, the outer slightly radiant. Fruit 30–50 mm, linear-subulate; beak flattened, 3–4 times as long as seedbearing part; styles 1–2.5 mm, 2–4 times as long as stylopodium.
