Romulea linaresii Parl. (Ρομουλέα)

Romulea linaresii Parl.
Romulea bulbocodium: Corm obliquely ovoid, with hard, smooth, brown tunics. Leaves 3–7, linear, usually exceeding flowers, subterete, 4-grooved, rather wiry. Scape 1–3-flowered, slender, elongating and arched in fruit. Spathes ± membranous. Hypanthial tube 4–8 mm, funnel-shaped. Perianth segments usually 25–40 mm, elliptical, subacute, all white or occasionally pinkish-lilac inside, yellow in lower third; outer perianth segments tinged brownish-purple beneath, the inner concolorous. Filaments hairy below. Stigmas whitish, held above top of the yellow anthers. Capsule broadly oblong, nodding. Seeds globose, brown.
Resembling R. bulbocodium, but smaller in all parts; scape produced only slightly above ground at anthesis; leaves often appressed to ground; perianth segments 10–16 mm, acute, violet-purple, concolorous or occasionally paler with violet-purple veins; filaments purple; anthers bright yellow; stigmas held below top of anthers.
