Erodium gruinum (L.) L'Hér.
Annual or biennial, 5–40 cm, sparingly branched; stem with patent to deflexed bristles especially below. Leaves usually 3-lobed with central lobe rounded and much larger than the lateral, crenate-dentate. Umbel (1–)2–5-flowered, usually only 1 or 2 flowers per plant open at any time. Sepals 10–14 mm long at anthesis, broadly oblong, aristate. Petals 12–20 mm, lavender-blue or bluish-violet. Mericarps with stiff, patent hairs, a large apical pit and a transverse furrow; beak conspicuously long (7–11 cm).
