Salvia viridis L.

Erect annual, 10–30(–50) cm tall, unbranched or sparingly branched; stem topped by a coma of sterile bracts. Basal and cauline leaves with petiole almost as long as blade; the latter simple, ovate-elliptical, crenulate, green on both sides. Verticillasters 4–6-flowered, usually distant below and approximated above; pedicels short, deflexed in fruit. Calyx 7–10(–12) mm, tubular, with short teeth. Corolla usually pale lilac; upper lip almost straight.
